Dhaka – Bangladesh will import 100,000 tonnes of rice in an effort to refill reserves and rein in prices of the staple. UNB news agency reported
“We have already invited a tender to import a total of 50,000 tonnes of rice, and another tender is likely to be issued very soon to import another 50,000 tonnes of rice,” Badrul Hasan, Director General of Directorate General of Food.
Directorate General of Food (DGF) of the Food Ministry invited an international tender from bona fide traders on Monday for supplying of 50,000 (+5%) metric tons of non-Basmati parboiled rice.
Directorate General of Food (DGF) of the Food Ministry published the tender in this regard on Monday, according to the official website of the DGF.
“50,000 (+5%) MT of non-basmati Parboiled rice at Chittagong and Mongla port on CIF Liner Out term at both ends (cost of the cargo, insurance and freight including stevedoring are on seller’s account. Lighterage, if any, is also on seller’s account), said the tender notice.
Single price per MT is to be quoted in US$ for both Chittagong Port and Mongla Port and Quantity must be supplied 60% for Chittagong port and 40% for Mongla port,” according to the notice.
The Tk 5,000 or USD 100 (non-refundable) by pay order or bank draft has been requested to draw in favour of Director General of Directorate General of Food.
