11 police personnel awarded in Rangpur Range


Eleven police personnel of Rangpur Range of Bangladesh Police received tri-monthly awards at a ceremony held today for their extra ordinary performances on different categories during the past three months.Acting Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Rangpur Range of Bangladesh Police Humayun Kabir distributed the awards among the police personnel of different districts under Rangpur Range at his conference room in the city as the chief guest.He distributed medals among the police members for their excellence and laudable performance in improving law and order, curbing violence, anarchy, terrorism, militancy, extortion, mugging, robbery, dacoity and murder, drug trafficking and other crimes.Superintendents of Police (SP) from Rangpur, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Kurigram,Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Dinajpur and Gaibandha districts under Rangpur Range and high police officials attended the ceremony. Superintendent of Police of Rangpur Abdur Razzaque received medal for becoming the best district under Rangpur Range in maintaining peaceful law and order situation through curbing violence and all sorts of crimes during the period. Sub-inspector (SI) of Gaibandha Sadar Thana Habibur Rahman received medal for his excellence in arresting the criminals involved with hurling petrol bomb in a passenger bus in Gaibandha killing eight innocent persons and getting their confessions.The other award winner police personnel are Sergeant Mostafa Mamtazul Islam of Syedpur, Lalmonirhat Sadar Court Inspector Rabiul Alam, ASI of Lalmonirhat Sadar Thana Shahanur Alam Sarker, SI Nuruzzaman Chowdhury of Dinajpur DSB Police, SI Shahinul Islam Talukder of Pirganj Thana in Rangpur, Officer-in-Charge of Mithapukur Thana Humayun Kabir, ASP of Lalmonirhat Adibul Islam, ASI Selima Reza of Rangpur Kotwali Thana and Constable Asaduzzaman of Biral Thana in Dinajpur.While addressing the occasion, the Acting DIG stressed on strengthening Community Policing activities to further improve police-people relations in curbing crimes and asked the police members for showing zero tolerance in curbing violence.He directed the police force for taking stern action to curb anarchy, terrorism, militancy, drug trafficking and other crimes to maintain peaceful law and order in ensuring safety and security of the people everywhere in Rangpur division.BSS, Rangpur
