150 lethal weapons voluntarily surrendered in Jhenidah

A large number of lethal weapons such as Dhal, Shorki, Bollom, Vela, Ram-da, Kaste and many other indigenous lethal weapons were voluntarily surrendered to police by the local people of Anipur village under Shoilkupa upazila on sunday after noon.
The programme was organised by jointly Anipur village people and Shailkupa thana at Anipur governmet primary school field. At that programme assistant police super Nazrul Islam PPM was present as chief guest.Among others were Shoilkupa thana officer in charge Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, chairman of Mirzapur UP Firoz Ahmed, Mokaddes Hossain, Monirul Islam, Osman Faruk and Bimol Kumar Shaha.
Also were a huge number of common people, local elites, police officers, socialists, teachers and students, up members, various professionals and journalists present at the programme.
ASP Nazrul said it is a very rear incident. He appreciated the villagers who submission the lethal weapons after a very long time. He also added, police is always beside the people, if any one cooperate police, police warmly help him. Later the local people of Anipur village have taken oath to not filing false cases. – A Correspondent, Jhenidah
