17000 farmers to get rehabilitation facilities in Rajshahi


Rajshahi – A total of 17486 flood-hit farmers in Rajshahi will get rehabilitation facilities for recovering their losses. They will get seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of 1 Bigha land, officers of Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) of Rajshahi said this.Deputy Director of DAE Rajshahi office Deb Dulal Daly informed that 7486 flood affected enlisted farmers will be given seeds and fertilizer free of costs for 1 Bigha Land each from the government.
Among them, some 4000 farmers will get wheat seeds, 2400 Maize seeds, 7000 Mustard seeds, 2000 Mung Bean seeds, 1050 Sesame seeds, and another 36 Brinjal seeds.
They will get this under the project of Rehabilitation of Flood-hit Farmers.
Mentionably, more that 1.5 lakh men have been flood-affected and the amount of loss is about to worth of taka 400 crore. Most affected areas are Baghmara and Mohonpur upazila of the district. – RU Correspondent
