Dhaka – Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first against ICC’s new full member Afghanistan in the 1st T20I of their three-match series at neutral venue Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun, India on Sunday.This is the first bilateral series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan and the ground of Dehradun is India’s 21st venue to host Twenty20 International.
There are some individual milestones waiting for Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan. If Shakib can get two wickets in the first match, he will become only the third cricketer after Shahid Afridi and Jacques Kallis to take 500 wickets and score 10,000 runs in all formats of international cricket.
Afridi and J Kallis needed more than 500 matches to reach the millstone while this will be Shakib’s 300th game.
Afghan leg-break googly man Rashid Khan will need to get three more wickets to become the fastest fifty T20I wicket-taker in terms of time and also the second fastest in terms of matches played.
