A joint team of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), forest officials, customs official and police in a drive arrested a man and a woman along with 50,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Moriccha area of Ramu upazila early Monday.The arrestees were identified as Shafiul Alam, 32, a resident of Dechua Palong village of the upazila and a microbus driver, and Shikha Rani, 40, daughter of Porimal Roy, hailing from Gopinathpur village in Savar upazila and a nurse.Lt Col Mohammad Rabiul Islam, commanding officer of BGB battalion-17, said, Subedar Nayeb Molla Ferdous Alam stopped a microbus in the Morichha checkpost area around 3:30am.Later, they recovered 50,000 piece Yaba tablets worth Tk 1.50 crore and seized the microbus.They also arrested the duo from the microbus. -UNB, Cox’s Bazar
