2 held with crude bombs in Meherpur


Police in a drive arrested two people along with four crude bombs at Dharmachaki village in Gangni upazila early Friday.

The arrestees were identified as Mohan, son of Kutubuddin, and Mustafiz, son of Nabisuddin of the village.

Tipped off, a police team conducted a raid on the house of Mohan in the early hours and arrested the duo along with the bombs, said
officer-in-charge (investigation) of Gangni Police Station Ashraful Islam.

During the drive, the law enforcers also recovered gunpowder and various types of bomb-making materials and equipment.

However, another man, Rakib Uddin, managed to flee sensing the presence of police.

Barely a month back, Mohan was injured in a blast while making crude bombs in his house, said the OC. – UNB
