2,150 blankets among poor in Ulipur, Panchagarh

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) distributed 2,000 blankets among the cold-hit distressed people of all ages in Ulipur upazila of Kurigram yesterday, a press release said here this evening.The ICAB distributed the blankets with financial assistance of ‘Sparkle’, an organisation of the Young Chartered Accountants under management of the Accounting & Information Systems (AIS) Club of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR).‘Sparkle’ distributed the blankets among the cold-hit men, women,
children and adolescents as a part of its ongoing social welfare activities being conducted throughout the country under its corporate social responsibility programme.Superintendent of Police of Kurigram Mohammad Tobarak Ullah
distributed the blankets among the cold-hit people at a ceremony arranged at Bagua Anantapur School and College ground in the upazila as the chief guest.Chairman of local Hatia union parishad Abul Hossain presided over the ceremony also participated by local elite, public representatives, socio-cultural and professional activists and community leaders.High officials of the ICAB from Dhaka including Ali Akhter Rizvi, Sheikh Ashique Iqbal, Wadud Ahmed, Mahmudul Haque, Rezaul Karim, AHM Ariful Islam, Ziaur Rahman and Saiful Islam were present.Teachers of BRUR including Dr Tuhin Wadud, Appel Mahmud, Shahinur Rahman, Omar Farooque, Nurunnabi Islam and students of the Department of Accounting & Information Systems of the university also attended the ceremony.  BSS, Rangpur
