3 of a family killed in Jamalpur microbus plunge


Three members of a family were killed and four others injured as a microbus plunged into a roadside ditch at Battamor Natunbazar on the Roumari-Bakshiganj road in Bakshiganj upazila early Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Babul, 28, a resident of Battala village in Rajibpur upazila, and his wife Shilpi,20 and their 10 months old son Abdullah.Witnesses said a microbus carrying seven passengers, including the trio, fell into a roadside ditch after its driver lost control over the steering at about 5:30 am, leaving Babul, his wife Shilpi and their son Abdullah, dead on the spot and four others injured.The injured were given first aid at a local hospital.On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy.Police seized the microbus and arrested its driver Abu Bakar from the spot.Officer-in-charge of Bakshiganj Police Station Muntasinur Rahman confirmed the incident.
