30,000 Yaba tablets recovered in Taknaf; 1 held

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in two separate drives recovered 30,000 pieces of Yaba tablet and arrested one person in this connection from Baraitali of Teknaf upazila on Tuesday night and early Wednesday.
Commanding officer of BGB Battalion 42 Lt Col Abu Zar Al Zahid said they had secret information that a man along with a consignment of Yaba tablets was coming to Bangladesh from Myanmar through the Naf River, a team of BGB-42 conducted a drive in Baraitali ghat near the river around 11:30 on Tuesday. Later, the BGB team recovered 10,000 pieces of Yaba tablet from the area in an abandoned condition.However, the smugglers managed to flee the scene sensing the presence of BGB.In an another drive, the same team of BGB arrested a man, Mohammad Nur, 35, from Baraitali village along with 20,000 pieces of Yaba tablet around 4.00am on Wednesday, Lt Col Abu Zar Al Zahid added. -UNB, Cox’s Bazar
