RAJSHAHI – A mobile court has sentenced four drug-traders including a woman to two years jail in Tanore Upazila of the district yesterday, police sources here said today.The convicted persons were identified as Shafiqul Islam, 38, his wife Angura Begum, 25, Raihan Sarder, 25, and Rejaul Karim, 28.Abdur Razzaque, Officer-in-Charge of Tanore Police Station, said on a tip-off, a police team conducted a sudden raid at Raitan Aksha village and arrested them red-handed. The team recovered some small packets of heroin from their possessions.
Afterwards, they were produced before a mobile court along with the seized goods. Executive Magistrate Mamunur Rashid sentenced them to two years jail each. The court also passed an order for destroying the seized drugs instantly.(BSS)
