4 ‘JMB men’ held for ‘Baishakh sabotage plan’


Mymensingh -Detectives arrested four members of the banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Dapunia area in Sadar upazila foiling their alleged plan to carry out sabotage ahead of Pahela Baishakh early Wednesday .The arrestees were identified as Alamgir Hossain,22, Jahangir Hossain,25, Hasan Ali,22, and Billal Hossain,43.Officer-in-charge of Mymensingh Detective Branch (DB) of police Imarat Hossain Gazi said tipped off, a team of DB police conducted a drive in Kawlat area of the area and arrested the four JMB men in the dead of night.

The law enforcers also recovered some bomb-making materials and huge jihadi books from their possession.They were taking preparation for sabotage ahead of Pahela Baishakh, the OC added.Sub-inspector Mafidul Islam filed two cases against the four with Kotwali Police Station. (UNB)
