Members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested five suspected members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) along with some explosives from the city’s Mirpur area on Thursday night. Tipped off, a team of CTTC launched a drive in the Technical intersection and arrested the five suspected JMB members along with some explosives and detonators, said Deputy Commissioner (Media) of DMP Masudur Rahman. Dhaka, UNB News Agency Reported.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate M Sarafuzzaman Ansari placed the five suspected JMB men on a six-day remand each after sub-inspector of the CTTC unit M Alim Hossain produced them before his court seeking a 10-day remand for each. No lawyer stood for the alleged militants. A case was filed against them with Darus Salam Police Station under the Anti-terrorism Act on Thursday night after they were arrested.
