5 villages brought under electrification network in Netrakona


Five villages under Atpara and Netrakona sader upazilas in the district were brought under rural electrification network yesterday by Palli Biddut Samity (PBS) Netrakona, an organization of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB).The deputy minister for youth and sports Arif Khan Joy MP formally inaugurated the electrification switching on separate buttons of the electric boards set up in the five villages for connecting those with the rural electrification network.The five villages are Salti, Matikata and Sreepur under Atpara upazila and Ailura and Kutubpur under Netrakona sader upazila.A large number of local people from all walks of life including government officials and local public representatives were present at the inaugural functions.General Manager of Netrakona PBS Mohammad Abu Taher told BSS here today that a total of 7.07 kilometers long electric line was installed around the five villages under the supervision of engineers of PBS Netrakona at a cost of taka 84.93 lakhs allocated by the government.
He also informed that a total of 279 rural houses, 11 commercial houses, three rice mills, 11 irrigation machineries and two mosques in the five villages were connected with the rural electrification network yesterday.The long-cherished demand of the local people has been fulfilled by bringing the five villages under the rural electrification network, the GM of PBS Netrakona Abu Taher added. -BSS, Netrakona
