Dhaka- The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested seven members of question papers leaking syndicate from the city’s different areas conduction simultaneous drives in last 25 hours till 5:00 pm on Sunday.
Some question papers, answer sheets, admit cards and Tk 50,000 were recovered from their possessions during the drive.The detectives arrested them in connection with leaking question papers of written test for the post of Deputy Assistant Engineer under PSC recently.
The arrested syndicate members are Md Niamul Hasan alias Saikat, Md Harun-ur-Rashid, Md Delwar Hossain, Md Ramzan Ali, Md Rubel Ahmed, Md Jasim Sikder alias Rana and Md Akbar Hossain.
DB sources said based on secret information, a DB team conducted a at Sher-eBanglanagar High School at around 2:00 pm pm Saturday and arrested Saikat, Md Harun-ur-Rashid and Md Delwar Hossain.
Following their statement, the detectives raided Kallyanpur West Point Hotel and arrested Rubel and Ramzan at around 5:00 pm and Later, Jasim Sikder from Banglamotor areas.
During interrogation, Jasim revealed the name of Akber Hossain, the ring leader of the syndicate. He has been working as a MLSS of PSC.
The DB team also arrested Akber from PSC area at arounf 5:00 pm on Sunday.
The Detectives also got names of several others, including Md Billal Hossain, who were also involved in the question paper leaking process. – News Desk
