The results of this year’s Primary Education Completion (PEC) and Ebtedayee examinations were published on Thursday, showing 98.52 and 95.13 pass percentages respectively.Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman handed over the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Ganabhaban at about 10:00 am.
Sheikh Hasina then formally published the results.
A total of 27,97,274 (98.52 percent) students out of total 28,39,238 came out successful in the PEC examination, said Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman at a press briefing at the secretariat.
Among the successful students, 12, 77,146 were boys and 15, 20,128 were girl, he said.
The Minister lso said that a total of 2, 75,980 PEC examinees secured GPA-5.
“The girl students did better comparing to the boys in the exam”, added the Minister.
“Besides, 4,262 physically challenged students, among 4,410, passed the exams” he added.
He said a total of 2, 51,266 students, among 2, 64,134, passed the Ebtedayee examinations with 95.13 pass percentage.
Mostafizur Rahman also said that a total of 5,473 students secured GPA-5 in the Ebtedayee exam and 100 percent students passed in 92 upazilas. Besides, 113 physically challenged students, among 123, passed the exam.
The PEC and its equivalent Ebtedayee examinations were held in 7,052 centres across the country and at eight centres abroad.
