ACC to appoint its next president from Bangladesh

Dhaka – The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will appoint its next president from Bangladesh.Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury confirmed this to journalists on his return to Dhaka on Monday after attending the ACC general meeting in Colombo,UNB News Agency Reported.Nizamuddin informed that the matter was finalised with everyone’s consent in the ACC meeting on Sunday.“After Shahryar Khan (Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman), a Bangladeshi representative will hold the post for the next two-year tenure,” BCB CEO said. The selected reprehensive of Bangladesh will take up the position in July 2018.It can be BCB’s current president Nazmul Hasan himself, if he remaind BCB president till then, or he can nominate another person from BCB for the job of ACC presidency.Shahryar Khan has been elected as the new ACC president earlier on Saturday for 2016-17 and 2017-18 to serve his duties as an 8th ACC president.
The ACC is a 25-nation cricket organisation, established in 1983, to extend the participation of Asian Nations in the sport of cricket.
