AFC Cup: Dhaka Abahani to play Bengaluru FC Wednesday


Dhaka- Bangladesh Premier League champions Dhaka Abahani Ltd will play their Group E home match of the AFC Cup Football against JSW Bengaluru FC of India at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Wednesday.The traditional sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit, which have already been eliminated from the meet, will lock horns with joint leader Bengaluru FC at 7:15pm local time.

Bengaluru FC shared the top slot in the group with New Radiant Club of the Maldives securing 12 points from five matches, but in goal difference, New Radiant Club enjoyed one goal advantage against the Indian club.

Dhaka Abahani were in the 3rd slot with four points from five matches with one win and a draw against another Indian Club Aizawl, who finished bottom in the four-team fray with only one point from five matches, making a draw with Dhaka Abahani Ltd in Dhaka last month.

In a pre-match press conference at the BFF House on Tuesday, head coach of Abahani Ltd AKM Saiful Bari Titu said the match will be very significant for them and they will try their best to gain points at the end of the day.

Abahani player Rayhan Hasan said the match will be an exciting one.Head coach of JSW Bengaluru FC Albert Roca and captain Rahul Sankar Biki said they will try to earn points playing a good football.The match will be open to general public, including the students.UNB
