AL-plans countrywide projection of govt’s success


Dhaka – Awami League presidium member and coordinator of the AL-led 14-party alliance Mohammad Nasim on Saturday announced that the ruling alliance would launch countrywide tour after Eid-ul-Fitr, in a bid to project the Sheikh Hasina government’s success stories before the country’s people ahead of the next polls.“We will announce programme on behalf of 14-party soon centering the next polls and will visit across the country after Eid-ul-Fitr, to counter BNP’s propaganda against us by highlighting current government’s development activities,” Nasim said.
He was addressing at a press conference after attending a 14-party meeting at the AL president Sheikh Hasina’s political office at Dhanmondi in the capital.
About the BNP’s Vision 2030, Nasim, also the health minister, said BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia should seek apology to the nation before unveiling her party’s vision. At the same time he alleged that actually BNP would like to win the next general election by misleading people through their ‘so-called Vision 2030’.
“BNP’s Vision-2030 is nothing but a technique to seek votes by misleading the people of the country,” he said.
About the BNP’s proposal to curtail the authority of prime minister by amending the constitution, AL leader said, they don’t believe that Khaleda Zia would do so if she elected to power in the future.
Earlier, Islamic Front Bangladesh led by its chairman Syed Bahadur Shah Mojadadi and its Secretary General Allama Zainul Abedin Zubayer met the 14-party leaders at Dhanmondi office and intended to join 14-party alliance.
About their joining the 14-party, Nasim said, “We have heard them and we will take decision later on it after discussing with our party president Sheikh Hasina.”
Workers party president and Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Awami League presidium member Dr. Abdur Razzak, JSD general secretary Shirin Akhter, Awami League organizing secretaries Ahmad Hossain, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, office secretary Dr. Abdus Sobhan Golap, relief affairs secretary Sujit Roy Nandi and top leaders of the central 14-party were present.
Rashed Khan Menon, chairman of the 14-party, presided over the meeting and Mohammad Nasim conducted it. – Staff Reporter
