Alleged rapist escapes from Dhaka court premises

Dhaka – Rubel , the prime accused in connection with the gang rape of an indigenous Garo girl, managed to escape from the court premises yesterday afternoon.
Talking to The Independent, Inspector MA Jalil, officer-in-charge of Badda Police Station, admitted it.Rubel escaped from the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Emdadul Haque around 3:30pm.
Abdul Jalil said, investigation officer of the case sub-inspector Emran was also with him.
We produced him as he had informed us that he wanted to give confessional statement in the case before the court, the OC said.
We are trying to arrest him immediately, he added.
On Friday RAB arrested the rapist from the Airport Rail Station area in the city.
Talking reporters Lt Col Tuhin Mohammad Masud, commanding officer of RAB-1 said, whenever Rubel got any chance, he raped girls.
There are several criminal allegation against Rubel with Badda Police Station.
Earlier, police arrested one Salahuddin, 28, from Badda area in this connection.
On October 28, the indigenous girl filed a rape case with Badda police station.
According to the case statement, on October 26, the victim was gang-raped by four youths while returning home from her workplace in the city.
Inspector MA Jalil, officer-in-charge of Badda Police Station, said the victim was a resident of Khilkhet area in the capital. She worked at a beauty parlour.
On the day of the incident, the victim went to meet one of her friends at North Badda in the city.
When she was returning from there, Rubel forcibly took her to a house at North Badda and gang raped her there along with his friends. – Staff reporter
