Alleged Terrorist killed in Bogra ‘gunfight’


Dhaka, Feb 14 – An alleged terrorist was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police at Patanja in Kahalu upazila of Bogra early Tuesday.
The identity of the deceased could not yet be known.Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area when a gang of terrorists was staying there at about 2:30 am, said Arifur Rahman Mondal, additional superintendent of police.
Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the gang members opened fire on them, forcing the police to fire back that triggered a gun battle.
One of the gang members was caught in the line of fire and injured while his associates managed to flee the scene.
The injured was taken to BograShaheedZiaurRahmanMedicalCollegeHospital where doctors declared him dead.
Police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
The law enforcers also recovered one pistol, three bullets and some sharp weapons from the spot. – UNB
