A court of Dhaka on Wednesday started recording the depositions of the witnesses in the Aminbazar six-murder case.
Judge Khandaker Hasan Md Firoz of Dhaka’s Second Additional District and Sessions Judge recorded the depositions of Anwar Hossain, complainant of the case and the then Sub-inspector of Savar Police Station partially as all the seizure listed items were not produced to the court. Later the court adjourned the hearing till November 27.
Seven accused were produced to the court from the jail while 42 accused who secured bail from the court were present in the courtroom.
On July 8, Md Helal Uddin, former Judge of the court framed charges against 60 people with killing six students on July 18, 2011.
On January 13, Additional Police Super Sharif Uddin Lahamed of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), who is also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, submitted the charge sheet of the case to the court accusing the 60 accused for killing the six students.
In the early hojurs of July 18, 2011, a mob killed 6 students in Aminbazar area under Savar on the outskirts of capital Dhaka and tried to pass off these students as robbers allegedly as per advice of police. – Court Correspondent
