Ansarullah Chief & 9 others indicted in Anti-Terrorism case

Dhaka-The Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka on Sunday framed charges against ten persons including Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) Chief Mufti Jasimuddin Rahmani in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act. Judge Md Qamrul Hossain Mollah of the court framed charges against them and fixed January 4 of 2017 to start recording the depositions of the witnesses in the case.
The other nine accused persons are Saiful Islam alias Prince, Abu Hanif, Ali Azad,
Md Jahidur Rahman, Kazi Dewan, Naimul Hasan, Md Junnun, Aminul Islam
and Abdullah Al Asadullah alias Piyas. Of them, Mufti Jasimuddin, Saiful Islam and
and Abu Hanif are in the jail, while Ali Azad was granted bail. Besides, the remaining six accused are on the run.
Earlier on November 8, the court issued warrant of arrest against the fugitives taking into cognisance the charge sheet of the case.
On August 24, 2013, Detective Branch (DB) Police Inspector Nibaran Chandra Barman filed the case with Mohammadpur Police Station of the capital under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
On September 8, 2014, DB Police Inspector Abdul Latif submitted charge sheet of the case against 10 Ansarullah Bangla Team men, including Mufti Jasimuddin.
Jasimuddin Rahmani was arrested along with 30 of his disciples from Barguna on August 12, 2013, while others were arrested from Katashur area of Mohammadpur in the city. -Court Correspondent
