The Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka on Sunday fixed March 30 for hearing on taking into cognizance the case filed against BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia and 37 others under the Special Power Act for killing man through hurling petrol bomb on a passenger bus at Jatrabari of the city.Judge Md Kamrul Hossain of the court passed the order on Sunday following a time petition filed on behalf of the defence.
Meanwhile, the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka had earlier, fixed March 2 for hearing on taking into cognizance of two charge sheets of two cases against the 38 accused, one filed under the Explosive Substances Act while the other is a murder case. On May 6, last year, DB Police Inspector Bashir Ahmed, submitted two charge sheets in two cases filed against the accused under the Penal Code and the Explosive Substances Act. Later, on March 19, last year, he filed the charge sheet of the case filed the Special Power Act.
Of the accused, 31 including Khaleda Zia have been shown as fugitives. Khaleda Zia has been made the prime accused.
