Asia Foundation BD to donate books in Moulvibazar

Dhaka – The Asia Foundation-Bangladesh will organize a book donation event supported by Pubali Bank Ltd. on November 8, 2016, at Moulvibazar Government High School Auditorium. The Asia Foundation will donate approximately 3,500 Bangla and English language books worth 44 lakh taka to 23 government primary schools to promote the role of books in developing reading habits and literacy among students and school teachers of the Moulvibazar District. Redtimes BD will support the event as media partner. This book donation event will bring together students and teachers with The Asia Foundation to emphasize the role of books to build the future of Bangladesh.Md Tofael Islam, Honorable Deputy Commissioner of Moulvibazar, will attend the event as the Chief Guest. Mr. Hasan Mazumdar, Country Representative of the Asia Foundation-Bangladesh, will be the Special Guest. Mr. Soumitra Dev, Chief Editor of Redtimes BD, will chair the event. Mr. Sirajul Islam, District Primary Education Officer, Mr. Dilip Kumer Paul, Deputy General Manager and Head of Region for Pubali Bank Ltd., Mr. Maruf Ahmed, Upzila Educaiton Officer, and Ms. Sukla Dey, Program Manager of The Asia Foundation-Bangladesh will also attend the event along with representatives and students from local schools. The honorable Chief Guest, Special Guest, and other guests will focus on promoting reading habits among the students and teachers, and will also emphasize the importance of girls’ education.
