Asian Handball: Bangladesh concede 4th successive defeat


Dhaka – Bangladesh suffered 4th successive defeat in the 18th Asian Men’s Handball Championship losing to Australia by 22-35 goals in the Korean city of Suwon on Monday.Australia dominated the first half by 16-15 goals.Anderson scored seven, Thomas six and Bastin five goals for the winners Shakir Shamir Emon and Sohel Rana netted five goals each, Mahbub scored four, Mehedi and Imdadul three goals each while Sagar and Shohag one each for Bangladesh.Earlier, Bangladesh made a dismal start in the Asian Handball conceding 20-46 goals defeat against hosts and Olympic champions South Korea, suffered the 2nd successive defeat losing to United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 15-36 goals and tasted the 3rd defeat in a row losing to India by 11-41 goals.Bangladesh will play China on Tuesday in their 5th match.Fourteen teams, split into four groups, are taking part in the 11-day meet, a qualifying meet for the Men’s World Cup Handball to be held either in Denmark or Germany next year. Top four teams of the ongoing 18th Asian Handball meet will qualify for the World Cup Handball-2019. UNB news agency
