The Bangladesh-India friendship drama festival, a week-long will begin at University of Rajshahi on April 1. The event was announced during a press conference on Thursday at the University of Rajshahi Department of Theatre.Department Assistant Professor Ataur Rahman said: “The University of Rajshahi along with High Commission of India in Bangladesh is organizing the festival. Thirteen drama groups will be performing 13 shows in the event. The drama exhibition will take place from afternoon to evening every day.”
The university’s Vice Chancellor Professor Abdus Sobhan will inaugurate the event. Indian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Harsha Vardhan Shringla will join the event as the chief guest; renowned writer Hasan Azizul Haque will be present as special guest along with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General Liakat Ali Lucky, India’s Rabindra Bharati University Professor Dr Somnath Sinha and University of Rajshahi Director of Drama Malay Bhowmick.
Among others, Assistant Professor Dr Habib Zakaria, Dr Kaushik Sarkar, Sumana Sarkar were present at the press conference.
