Dhaka – Bangladesh Under-15 Football team reached the Nepalese capital Kathmandu on Wednesday afternoon to participate in the six-team South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U-15 Championship scheduled for August 18-27 at ANFA Complex there, with an eye to defend the title.A 30-member Bangladesh team, including 23 booters and seven officials, left the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at noon.Defending champions Bangladesh have been placed in three-team Group A with Sri Lanka and Bhutan. Bangladesh will play Sri Lanka on August 18 and Bhutan on August 22 with both the matches kicking off at 3pm.Earlier captain of the Bangladesh U-15 team Jahed Hossain expressed his optimism to defend the trophy, saying they consider Sri Lanka as their main opponent.”We want to hold the trophy as our seniors did last year. We know it will be difficult for us on foreign soil, but we are mentally prepared after playing against our senior teams at home,” he had said.Bangladesh formed a 23-member football team through a month-long training with primarily selected 32 players at Khulna BKSP.
