BD men’s, women’s teams reach final


Dhaka – Both the Bangladesh men’s and women’s teams reached the final of the seven-nation International Handball Federation (IHF) Trophy-2016 eliminating their rivals in the semifinal matches on Wednesday.Bangladesh women’s team reach the final with all-win record crushing Pakistan by 38-12 goals after leading the first half by 19-7 goals at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in the capital at 12pm,UNB News Agency Reported.
Bangladesh women’s team will play the final against India on Thursday.In the men’s group, Bangladesh advanced to the final eliminating Pakistan by 35-30 goals in the semifinal at Shaheed (Capt) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city at 12:30 pm.They will play the final against giant India at the same venue at 3pm on Thursday.In the day’s women’s competition, Shifa scored eight while Shahida Banu struck seven and Masuda Akter scored six, Rahima and Shahina Akter netted four goals each for Bangladesh.In the Men’s Competition, Mohammad Shakir scored eight while Dalliankhum Lusai and Sohel Rana struck seven each, and Mehedi Hasan contributed six and Imran netted four goals for Bangladesh.
