BGB man hurt in Dinajpur smugglers’ attack


Dhaka – A member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was injured as smugglers launched an attack on a BGB team during a drive in Birampur bordering area in the district early Thursday. The injured is Nabab Ali, 25, a soldier of BGB.Acting on a tip-off, they challenged a group of smugglers and recovered 91 bottles of Phensidyl syrup near pillar No 290 around 12:10 am, said BGB Daudpur camp commander nayeb subedar Abdul Malek.Later, the smugglers swooped on the BGB men with local weapons, leaving Nabab injured.The hoodlums fled the scene as the border force opened fire in self-defence, added Malek.UNB news agency
