Bnp accuses govt of impeding democracy violating human rights

BNP chairperson’s adviser Dr Osman Faruk on Wednesday accused the government of impeding the country’s democracy and frequently violating the human rights of the people.
He was speaking a function of unveiling the cover of a book titled Selected Columns (First Chapter) by Engineer AKM Rezaul Karim at Jatiya Press Club.The former minister warned that the “autocratic government” would be forced to quit through launching tougher movement.
“Wave of tougher movement is coming in near future. The movement will be peaceful but vigorous,” he warned.
Youth Forum, a social organisaiton, organised the function with its president Saidur Rahman in the chair.
Dr Osman Faruk alleged that the government is resorting to implicating what he said fabricated cases against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to harass her.
He claimed that there is no base of the cases and she is not even the principal accused.
“Such a situation cannot be continued. People are united to launch a united movement to force the government to hold a fair election,” he said.
He requested the President and the Prime Minister to use alternative transport like helicopters while they move inside the city to relieve the people from traffic congestion.
Prof Dr Emajuddin Ahmed and BNP leader ABM Mosharraf Hossain, among others, also spoke on the occasion. – Staff Reporter
