Bnp expels 5 local level leaders over municipal polls dispute

Dhaka – Five grassroots-level BNP leaders have been expelled from all party posts on charges of disciplinary violations.
At a press release, BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Saturday said the action was taken against the BNP leaders for their involvement in activities that go against the party interests.The expelled leaders are Narail district BNP joint general secretary M Ali Hasan, Sadar Poura BNP ex-general secretary Rezaul Kabir, Satkhira district BNP member and Jubo Dal ex-general secretary Nasim Farroque Khan Mithu, Bandarban district BNP sports secretary Jahangir Alam and its youth affairs secretary Moshiur Rahman.
Party sources said the punitive action was taken against them following their disputes with the central leaders over the municipal polls.
Besides, the party asked Bandarban district BNP vice president Abdul Quddus and Sadar Poura BNP president Nasir Chowdhury to explain within 24 hours as to why organisational action will not be taken against them for violating party discipline and getting involved in activities that go against the party’s interest.- UNB
