BNP ‘won’t be allowed to take to the street’: Nasim


Awami League presidium member and spokesman of the 14-party alliance Mohammad Nasim on Friay said that BNP-Jamaat would not be allowed to torch properties on the streets in the name of movement.
“Begum Zia will not be allowed for a moment even to go for any killing in the country. BNP will not be given any scope to create anarchy and vandalism along with Rajakars and Jamaat. The 14-party alliance will be on the streets from January,” he said.
Mohammad Nasim, also Health and Family Welfare Minister, was speaking as the chief guest at the national conference of Ganatantri Party at Mohanagar Natyamancha at Gulistan Square in Dhaka city.Ganatantri Party presidium member Barrister Arash Ali chaired the conference, also addressed, among others, by Workers’ Party president Rashed Khan Menon, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) president and Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua, Bangladesh Peace Council chairman Mozaffar Hossain Paltu, Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) convener Rezaur Rashid Khan, National Awami Party (NAP) central leader Ismail Hossain and Ganatantri Party general secretary Nurur Rahman Selim.
Pointing at BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, Mohammad Nasim said, “Don’t utter words like an autocrat and don’t sound any threat. Whom do you want to scare? Those who are in the 14-party alliance are freedom fighters. There will not be any benefit in scaring us. People of the country witnessed your anarchy three months before the national polls. You will not be allowed for a moment even to take to the streets. Leaders and workers of the 14-party alliance are prepared and they will not let BNP-Jamaat-Rajakars to take to streets from Teknaf to Tentulia.”
Nasim said, “Polls will surely be held in the country, but not a day before the year 2019. You (Begum Zia) have committed a mistake by not taking part in the last national polls. Now you have to wait and seek apology to the people. If people pardoned you then you can participate in the next polls.”
He said, “There would have been martial law in the country had the January 5 national polls not been held. Risking her life Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina along with the 14-party alliance took part in the polls. On the contrary, Khaleda Zia along with Rajakars had pursued ill-politics at the instigation of foreigners and killed people by torching them.”
Drawing attention of the leaders-workers of the 14-party alliance, Mohammad Nasim said, “From now on we have to get prepared in every nook and corner of the country to resist together the conspiracies of BNP-Jamaat combine.”
Speaking at the conference, JSD president and Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu said, “Democracy is not imprisoned in Bangladesh. Rather, the war crimes-militancy-Rajakars are imprisoned. Begum Zia has not been raising hue and cry for democracy. She has been crying for militant outfits.”
He said there would never be any military government in Bangladesh if the country could be transformed into secular and prosperous state in the spirit of the Liberation War.
The minister said none should ever be allowed to form government with Rajakars in Bangladesh.
Rashed Khan Menon said as Begum Zia could not become successful in her so-called movement she along with Jamaat has been hatching conspiracy and her son Tarique Rahman has been trying to mislead people by distorting glorious history of the nation. – BSS
