Body of accused in M’singh 4 murders found


Police recovered the body of a man, an accused in the killing incident of a man and his three sons in Nandail upazila on Friday night, from near a pond at Bashati village in the upazila on Saturday.The deceased was identified as Jamal Hossain, 22, son of Lal Miah of the village.Syed Abdullah, officer-in-charge of Nandail Police Station, said local people spotted Jamal’s body lying near the pond around 7am and informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue.The body bore several injury marks, said the OC.The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.Police also arrested one Khokon Miah, 30, in connection with the four-murder incident.Earlier, a man and his three sons were killed allegedly by his brother and his men over a land-related dispute at Bashati village in Nandail upazila on Friday night.The deceased were identified as Belal Uddin, 50, and his three sons, Farid, 25, and Himel, 14, and Pavel,10, of the village.Officer-in-charge of Nandail Police Station Syed Abdullah said the two brothers—Belal and Lal Miah – had long been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land.At one stage, Lal Miah along with his associates attacked Belal and chopped him with sharp weapons, leaving him dead on the spot.They also chopped Belal’s three sons – Farid, Pavel and Himel as they tried to save their father, killing them also on the spot.On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue for autopsy.
