Dhaka – Chittagong Vikings disappointed their local fans at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium here after conceding a 19-run defeat against table topper Dhaka Dynamites in their 5th match of the 4th Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 Cricket on Thursday.Chasing a target of 149, Vikings played stipulated 20 overs to collect 129 for 8 wickets to concede 4th successive defeat in a row in the seven-team franchised based tournament.With the day’s feat, Dynamites maintained the top slot in the league table earning their 4th victory as they piled up a challenging total of 148 runs for 9 in 20 overs in the day’s match,UNB News Agency Reported.After the day’s match, Dynamites collected eight points from five matches with four wins and one loss while Vikings remained in their previous collection of only two points, also from five matches with one win and four defeats.Dynamites ensured a flying start with eight-wicket victory over Barisal Bulls in an opening-day match at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on November 8, but conceded six-wicket defeat against Rajshahi Kings.Dynamites got back their track securing a big 78 runs win over Rangpur Riders, followed by 33-run win over defending champion Comilla Victorians to wrap-up Dhaka phase on Monday last (November 14).Vikings started their campaign with a 29-run win against bottom run Comilla Victorians in the tournament opener, then suffered a massive nine-wicket defeat against Rangpur Riders, followed by four-run and seven-wicket losses against Khulna Titans and Barisal Bulls respectively.In the day’s match, Vikings skipper-cum-opener Tamim Iqbal was out for 26 off 35 balls, involving two boundaries, leaving team total at 66/3 in 12.1 overs as he was caught by Mosaddek Hossain off Dwayne Bravo.Mett Coles bowled out Mahmudul Hasan, who scored 20 off 22 balls including one boundary, at 84/4 in 14.2 overs.  Anamul Haque stayed for 17 runs when their team collection was at 38/2 in 6.3 overs. Mohammad Nabi (15) and Nazmul Hossain Milon (13) were other double figure scorers for the side.Vikings faced early jolt losing their opening batsman Jahurul Islam (6) who was run out to depart from opening stand at 13 in 2.5 overs.Pace bowler Mohammad Shahid captured three wickets for 23 runs in four overs and was adjudged man of the match. Mett Coles, Dwayne Bravo and Nasir Hossain took one wicket each for 23, 25 and 26 runs respectively.Earlier, Dynamites collected their figure of 148 with their promising young batsman Mosaddek Hossain’s top-scoring 35 runs. Mosaddek was caught by Nazmul Hossain Milon off Tymal Mills bowling at 138 for 8 in 18.3 overs, after facing 26 balls to fire two boundaries and two sixes.Sent into bat first, Dynamites started well as their opening pair between Mehedi Maruf and Kumar Sangakkara contributed 41 in 4.5 overs that was departed by Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi.Maruf scored 33 off 22 balls, including six boundaries and one six, before being trapped by lbw off Nabis’ 5th delivery of his first spell.Nasir Hossain was bowled out by Tymal Mills at 72/2 in 9.1 overs scoring 20 off 14 balls, including three boundaries, while Lankan batters Kumar Sangakkara (17) and skipper Shakib Al Hasan (13) were the other double figure batsmen for Dynamites.Nabi and Mills captured three wickets each for 18 and 25 runs in three and four overs respectively. Imran Khan took one wicket 24 runs in four overs.
