Vice-chancellor (VC) of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr A K M Nurun Nabi has stressed for ensuring quality in higher education to produce properly educated and worthy citizens.
“There is no alternative to quality higher education befitting for the competitive 21st century in turning Bangladesh into a developed country,” the VC, also a noted population scientist, said at a workshop here on Sunday as the chief guest.
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the university organised the daylong inception workshop on ‘Quality Assurance in Higher Education’ in the conference room of Academic Building No-3 in the campus.
Dean of the Faculty of Arts of BRUR Professor Dr Saidul Haque, Dean of the Faculty of Science Professor Dr Tazul Islam and Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Professor Dr Ferdous Rahman addressed the workshop as special guests.
Professor Dr Sanjoy Kumar Adhikari and Professor Dr Abul Kashem delivered separate presentations as quality assurance specialists narrating various aspects and importance of ensuring quality in higher education.
With Director of IQAC at BRUR Professor Dr Nazmul Haque in the chair, teachers of different departments under all six faculties of the university participated in the inception workshop. Additional Director of IQAC at BRUR Abul Kalam Azad moderated the daylong inception workshop.
