The authorities of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) on Wednesday asked their students to join their classes from Saturday as they have already taken responsibility of Dwip’s treatment. Arif Raihan Dwip, 25, a 3rd year student of the department of Mechanical Engineering, was stabbed by an unidentified youth at Kazi Nazrul Islam Hall of the university on April 9.
The authorities said Dwip is now undergoing treatment at city’s Square Hospital and they will bear all the expenses of his treatment, a Buet press release said.
After the attack on Dwip, Buet students went on class boycott on April 9 demanding the arrest of those who attacked one of their fellows.
They also brought out a protest procession on the campus and submitted a memorandum to Vice Chancellor SM Nazrul Islam with a 6-point demand, including security on the campus and punishment of the attackers. UNB
