Businessman rescued, 5 alleged kidnapers arrested in city


Police rescued am abducted businessman and arrested five alleged kidnappers from Fulbaria of Turagh area in the city.
The rescued businessman was Mukhlesur Rahman, while the alleged arrested abductors are—Md Abdul Gafur, Gulam Md Chowdhury, Md Azad Hossain Rukun, Md Shohanur Alam and Sanaullah.
Briefing reporters at Tejgaon DC’’s office, Biplob Kumar Sarker, Deputy Commissioner of Tejgaon Division on Monday said Mukhlesur Rahman’s cousin registered a general diary (GD) with Adabar police station on June 27 mentioning that Mukhles had been missing since June 25 and unidentified kidnappers were demanding Tk 30 lakh as ransom over phone.
Adabar thana police started investigation into the matter and finally identified the position of the kidnappers using information technology, the DC (Tejgaon Division) said.
Later, a special team of Adabar thana police conducted a drive at Fulpur area on Sunday afternoon and rescued the businessman Mukhles arresting the five kidnappers, he said and adding that the police also recovered Tk23,000 out of Tk 1.56 lakh, which was snatching from the victim Mukhles, Biplob Sarker said.
A case was filed with Adabar police station in connection with the incident. – News Desk
