Cabinet decides to fill 1638 vacant BCS ports

Dhaka – The cabinet has approved a proposal of the public administration ministry to fill up only 1638 vacant posts of 36th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations of Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) yesterday.The approval was given at the yesterday’s cabinet meeting, held at the secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Due to not get qualified candidates which were preserved for the quota of freedom fighters, their children and grandchildren, women and ethnic minorities, the posts were vacant since 28th BCS exam.
According to a cabinet minister, 30 per cent quota for freedom fighters, their children and grandchildren, women and ethnic minorities in the cadre service will stay, but posts of the cadre service would be filled up through merit list in future if not found candidates from the quotas. – Staff Reporter
