Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy is currently holding a cultural competition in almost all the government and non-government primary schools of the country as part of its recent missions to proliferate cultural practices. As part of the competition a contest for all the primary schools of the district of Dhaka was held at the National Music and Dance Centre of the academy. The contest ran for two days on April 8 and 9. It judged young artistes on four categories- music, dance, recitation and acting.
Laila Hasan, Nadira Begum, Fatema Tuz Zohra, Mir Barkat, Bhaswar Bandyapadhyay, Yakub Ali Khan, Golam Sarwar, Sharmila Bandyapadhyay, Belahyet Hossain Khan, Moon moon Ahmed were among the jury members of the competition. The award giving ceremony was held on April 9. Winners were awarded with certificate, crests and CD and printed version of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s autobiography. Shilpakala Academy recently took a revised resolution to disseminate the vibes of cultural practice and drill the next generation to keep up the progress of creative productions.
The competition will be held at the countrywide level on May 13 and 14. More than three thousand child artistes are expected to take part at the competition.
