China wants to see politically stable Bangladesh

China wants to see a politically stable Bangladesh to strengthen the democracy in the country so that the development process is becomes meaningful.
Deputy Minister for International Affairs of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) Guo Ya Zhou said this during a meeting with BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia at latter’s Gulshan residence yesterday afternoon.BNP standing committee member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan said this to reporters after the hour-long meeting began at 3:45pm.
“China had made it clear before that they want to see a stable political situation in Bangladesh so that development process can be meaningful by strengthening the democracy. They have not changed their stand and we also so we have,” he told a questioner.
Moyeen Khan said different bilateral issues of the two countries, development projects of China the relations between BNP and CPC came up during the discussion.
The latest development in the political arena also came up in the discussion, he said.
Replying to a question, he said the BNP is a party based on nationalism and China also believes in nationalism. They discussed how to improve closed relations between the BNP and CPC further, he added.
Moyeen Khan referred to the contribution of late President Ziaur Rahman in strengthening the bilateral prelateship between China and Bangladesh in 1975.
He said the Chinese delegation also discussed in detailed different development projects of China.
He termed China a tested friend of Bangladesh and put emphasis to take it forward.
Lt Gen (Retd) Mahbubur Rahman and BNP chairperson’s adviser Sabihuddin Ahmed also present on the occasion.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ma Mingqiang also included in the six-member Chinese delegation. – Staff Reporter
