A delegation of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban here this evening.
The delegation is now in Dhaka on the occasion of the 63rd Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference that began on November 1.
The prime minister exchanged pleasantries with the guests at the lawn of Ganabhaban and extended her sincere thanks for attending the CPA Conference.
She also talked with the newly-elected CPA Chairperson and Deputy Speaker of Cameroon National Parliament Emilia Monjowa Lifaka.
Congratulating the newly-elected CPA chairperson, Sheikh Hasina wished her allout success in performing her responsibility.
Outgoing CPA Executive Committee Chairperson and Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Deputy Speaker Advocate Fazley Rabbi Mian, PM’s International Affairs Advisor Dr Gowher Rizvi and State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim were present on the occasion, among others.
The Ganabhaban lawn was tastefully decorated with colourful lights on the occasion.
