‘Crime suspect’ killed in ‘gunfight’ with Rab


Dhaka – a crime suspect was killed in a so called shootout with Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in the city’s Mohakhali area on early Tuesday.
Two Rab members were also reportedy injured in the incident, sources at the Rab headquarters claimed saying that one foreign made pistol, one magazine, two bullets and two sharp weapons were recovered from the spot.
The deceased was identified as Bangkok Sumon.Sub-Inspector Mostak Ahmed of Banani police station said a shootout incident took place near the Institute of Public Health Pond, western side of Mohakhali ‘Sattola slum’ , in between members of Rab-1 and miscreants at around 3:00 am early Tuesday.
After a brief exchange of fire, alleged criminals fled the scene leavig Sumon in a pool of blood. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while he succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital, SI Mostak said as quoted members of Rab-1.
The body was sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy. – News Desk
