Denmark has expressed its interest to work for creating energy security in Bangladesh. Danish Ambassador Hanne Fugl Eskjaer expressed her country’s such willingness while calling on State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid on Thursday at his office at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
She said a number of Danish companies want to invest in LNG supply and LNG terminal building projects in Bangladesh. During the meeting both the sides widely discussed different issues about ongoing developments in the country’s energy sector. Dhaka, UNB News Agency Reported.
Welcoming the Danish ambassador, Nasrul Hamid said an excellent investment climate is prevailing in Bangladesh. He said Bangladesh needs investment of about $40 to implement the programmes in energy sector under the government’s Vision 21 and Vision 41. He noted that there is great opportunity to invest in exploration and extraction of coal, granite, hydrocarbon in the Bay of Bengal in Bangladesh territory.
He also urged the Danish businessmen to invest in these areas in energy sector. Business house Marks Group`s regional managing director Alan John Bradley and senior commercial officer of Denmark embassy in Dhaka Samina Ahsan Shahrukh were present at the meeting.
