Music legend Dolly Parton will be presented with a special honor during this year’s CMA Awards.
The 70-year-old artist has earned the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. The honor is given to artists who have “positively impacted and contributed to the growth of the genre throughout a course of years.” According to the CMAs, Parton has also “proven to have an unprecedented historical impact on fans and industry alike.”
Previous recipients of the award include Nelson himself, Kenny Rogers and Johnny Cash.
“Dolly epitomizes the very definition of the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. he is a trailblazer who continues to enchant and captivate fans around the world,” Sarah Trahern, CMA chief executive officer, said in a statement. “She is a treasure and deserving of this industry acclaim for her undeniable contributions to the success of country music today.”
The award is one of many big milestones for Parton this year. She’s currently on a worldwide tour in support of her recent album, Pure & Simple. She’ll also release the sequel to her hit television movie, Coat of Many Colors, this holiday season on NBC.

Parton has received 46 Grammy nominations, tying her with Bruce Springsteen for the most Grammy nominations and placing her in tenth place overall, reports CNN.
