Shahjada wins SAE Foundation Young Industry Leadership Award

SAE International has selected Dr. Shahjada Ahmed Pahlovy, The Technical Team Leader of Dynax Corporation, Japan to be the winner of Young Industry Leadership Award 2016. Dr. Pahlovy received this award during the SAE Foundation Yearly Meeting in May 24, 2016 in Detroit, USA. SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) International, USA is the highest technical standard and quality control organization of automotive industry in the world. The award was established in 2006 by SAE to recognize those who have significant accomplishments and who show potential for significant leadership growth in automotive industry. Top researchers and technical leaders from USA, Canada, EU. UK and other countries have received the award. Dr. Pahlovy has brought this award to Japan for the first time in the history of Japan.
Dr. Pahlovy has been working as a Technical Team Leader (2016~) and Expert researcher (2011~) in the Research and Development Headquarters of Dynax Corporation Japan. Before, he served as an Assistant Professor and Post Doc Researcher at Tokyo University of Science, Japan from 2008-2011.
He introduced a new term called “3S” (Save materials, Save energy and Save environment) in the automotive transmission clutch industry. He developed an analytical model to predict the drag torque characteristics of disengaged wet clutches of transmission. His key research areas are R&D of low fuel consumption transmission clutch disk; CFD Simulation and modeling; and green nano tribology: reduction of friction loss by DLC coating, micro/nano patterning or structuring.
Dr. Pahlovy has published more than 32 research papers, delivered more than 25 talks in 17 international conferences, and received several awards and scholarships from Japan, China, India, USA, UAE and Spain. He is a regular reviewer of SAE International Journal and JVST-B, and member of SAE International, ASME, CSME and JSPE. He obtained his bachelor’s, master’s and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from universities in Bangladesh, China and Japan respectively.
Dr. Pahlovy was born to Bangladesh parents and is the 4th Son of Alhajj Abdul Kadir (Manik) of Comilla’s Dhanapati Khola Villlage under Muradnagar Upazilla & Ratnagorva Mother Alhajj. Nurun Nahar Choudhury (Jhumu Choudury) of Brahmanbaria’s Moni Andha Choudury Bari. His better half Dr. Syeda Faria Mahmud has also been working as a Researcher & Engineer of Research & Development Department in Automotive Industry in Japan.
