Drug peddler fled away from DMCH

Dhaka-A convicted drug peddler fled from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (MCH) on Tuesday.
Following the incident the concerned authorities suspended two jail guards for negligence of their duties.
Earlier, a mobile court sentenced M Sohel, 42, to two years of simple imprisonment in a drug peddling case. The jail sources said Sohel was brought to the DMCH from Dhaka Central Jail of Keraniganj on Monday for treatment. He was released on Tuesday noon after necessary treatment. Sohel wanted to go to toilet at about 12:30 pm.
Jail guards Azizul Hakim and Nazrul Manik took him to the toilet and they were guarding from outside while the convict fled.
Inspecting the spot, Dhaka Range DIG (Prisons) Touhidul Islam said the two guards were suspended for negligence of their duties. A case would be lodged with Shahbagh Police Station in connection with the incident. -Special Correspondent
