Bogra, Sep 27 (UNB)- A suspended leader of Juba League, youth wing of ruling Awami League was sent to jail on Wednesday after he surrendered to the court in connection to a murder case filed against him in 2001.The accused leader is identified as Matin Sarkar, former joint secretary of Bogra unit Juba League and general secretary of district Truck Owners’ Association.Bogra Additional District and Sessions Court Judge Imdadul Haque passed the order rejecting Matin’s bail plea after his surrender. According to the case statement, on October 28 in 2001 Matin hacked Munshi Abu Naser, an activist of Juba Dal to death during a clash between supporters of Awami League and BNP-Jamaat in Satmatha area of Sadar upazila.Earlier, Matin was arrested after remaining absconding for long time and also secured bail from the court.Later, on July 29 of 2008 his bail was cancelled.This morning he surrendered before the court and sought bail again while court rejected his plea.UNB news agency
