Factory owner fined Tk 1.50 lakh for making adulterated lozenge


A mobile court here on Wednesday fined two people, including  a factory owner, of Tk 1.50 lakh, in default sentenced two months simple jail to each  for their involvement in making adulterated lozenges without BSTI approval at Old Dhaka. The mobile court also seized one lakh pieces adulterated lozenges from the factory.
Sources at the Rab-2 battalion headquarters said the mobile court, led by Rab-2 deputy director Didarul Alam along with executive magistrate Md Helel Uddin, conducted the drive at ” Fahad Food prodicts’ lozenge factory at Bangshal at around 3:00 pm.
During the drive the mobile court detained the factory owner Md Fahad, 35. and his father  Md Nayeem Ali,  of 71/1 Siddique Bazar at Kazi Nazrul Islam Evenue under Bangshal police station, for using harmful and toxic colour in making lozenges without BSTI approval, said ASP Ferdousi Rahman of Rab-2.
Later, the court fined them of Tk 1.50 lakh for violation of  section 30& 31 of BSTI Ordinance, in default, to suffer two months simple jail each, she added.
