Ferry service on the Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed on Saturday after 11 hours of its disruption caused by dense fog.
Mahiuddin Russel, manager of BIWTA Aricha, said they kept suspended ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route from 10:30am to 930 am due to blurred visibility caused by dense fog.
Earlier, the ferry service on the route was suspended around 10:30 pm as thick fog enveloped the area.
Nine ferries remained stranded at Daulatdia while two at Paturia ghats.
Besides, five ferries were stranded in the mid-river due to poor visibility caused by the fog, he said.
About 400 vehicles, including buses, trucks and cars, remained stranded along with several hundred passengers on both ends of this important route and in the mid-river.
However, the ferry services resumed around 9:30 am as fog started disappearing with sunrise.
